The song and sweet voice of a girl seduce the tramp by inducing him to enter the mission and partecipate himself in the function in progress, at the end of which the conversation held between the girl and the pastor convert the tramp to righteousness and taking farewell, and spontaneously returns the previously grabbed collecting box. The neighborhood is degraded, its inhabitants are poor, violent and do-nothing, or rather, busy beating up the unfortunate agents of the local police station, and among all the cruel, a gigantic and overbearing bully who terrorizes the whole street in front of the mission stands out for his malice. Jobs are scarce, except as a policeman, advertised and offered outside the local police station and which will eventually tempt the tramp as well. After two or three failed attempts, forcing his own anarchic nature, he decides to enter the station to leave it shortly after wearing a flaming policeman’s uniform two sizes larger, but qualified to defend and enforce the law and sent on a mission right in the street where the bad guy lords it. Charlot will regret his carreer as soon as he finds himself face to face with the bully, intolerant of authority and who immediately shows him his bad intentions by immobilizing him against a gas lamp which he is bending with herculean force around Charlot’s neck, but he quickly escapes his grip by sticking his head into the lamp post and opening the gas valve making him lose consciousness. Having the incredulous colleagues intervene to immobilize and transport the scoundrel to jail, Charlot runs into the mission girl, who volunteered to look after the disadvantaged families of the street, accompanying and assisting her in the visits. Meanwhile the villain recovers and defeated the entire team of policemen returns to his home where he undertakes a furious quarrel with his unfortunate drawing the attention of Charlot who rushes to the rescue, ignoring the generality of the protagonist, discovering it only when he will rush against him to take revenge for the affront he has suffered. In the meantime, the girl remained alone and watched by a gang of thugs who, once kidnapped, segregates her in a basement in the company of a drug addict who will not fail to show her unwanted attention. Escaping the clutches of his rival, Charlot, he ends up running into the same band of thugs succumbing to the superiority of numbers, and thrown in the same place of segregation as the girl ends up sitting right on the syringe that the drug addict was preparing with a dose of narcotic; the effect of the injection is immediate and infuses Charlot with an irrepressible vitality charge tank to which he routs all those he meets on his way, freeing himself, the girl and the neighborhood from bullying and harassment…
